This place is a top of the Lincolnshire Wolds. There is a domestic site which is used for commerical use and the rest is boarded up. When I visited a few years a go the runway was being pulled up. The tower has been demolished but there are some arms stores located on the far side of the side.

This places claim to fame is that is was the last place that the RAF operated the Lightning aircraft and in 1989 it was used to film part of the film Memphis Bell.

Yep, gonna go up to Binbrook as soon as the weather gets a little better. want to get pics of the battle bunker/command bunker place. not been here for years, last time we went, went to a meeting and the control tower was still there. dad and a mate was stood in front of the control tower taking pics, till a security guard told them it was still MOD and being used as a satellite landing ground (the runway was still there then) and they both got escorted to the guard room. (mum joked they were probably being hosed down as they were being interrogated about who they were taking pics for hehe). but they just got told they had to stay away from the runway and control tower.

They did have some pics somewhere, but im still waiting on them both finding them again. (both of them been taking pics for 65 years plus so they got thousands of pics to go through. ) just keeping fingers crossed they can find them - eventually.

Excellent pics M, can't believe how much its decayed since we were up there. mind you, its been about 18 years ago  and not been back since. i really do want to go back up there, before there's nothing left at all.

:) Sal
