Imber Village

brill shots thank you. its been years since i was there but it hasnt changed.

Best set of photos I've seen of Imber in a long time.They seem to have tidied the poor old place up a bit since I was last there.Thanks for sharing.

6 Villages taken by MOD near Thetford Nfk

There is a similar place to this near Thetford Nfk. It has the MOD name of Stanta (battle area). During the early part of the WW11 six villages were taken by the war office and all the residents were given 30 days to vacate. The only times they were to return were for funerals of the original inhabitants. The land has never been given back and all the original inhabitants have now passed on, so sad.

Its open for 50 days a year but those 50 days are dictated by the MOD. Your best bet would be to try next easter.

Cant be totally sure,but Imber used to open during the first two weeks in september.
