Hi all here are some odds and ends ive found not big enough to post on there own so ive saved them up

some nice odds and sods there, the pillbox looks to have taken a battering over the years. Are the last 6 photos all connected or at seperate locations because the photo with the steps and the brick walls look similar in design to a fire trench and shelter I found lit so long ago

Thanks mate the shelter is at raf donanook bombing range in a sand dune its got some kind of base for a large gun of some kind i was hoping some one could tell wat it is

If its on a bombing range I doubt it will be a gun emplacement ( I might be wrong though ) I think it will be more likely to be something like an observation platform. Have you got the flashearth link for it mate and I'll see if I can work it out

Il give it a go my computer skills arnt great the bombing range is cold war and stil in use but there was a ww2 airfield there as well the control tower is still in use for coast guard

Whats the location ? And Jon I think the bombing range was a post war thing mate

I think your pb is "PILLBOX: S0005123 Infantry blockhouse, one end demolished" this is marked a couple of hundred yards south and yours is marked as" PILLBOX (LINCOLNSHIRE 3 BAY): S0005122" which is actually the beach side of the sand dunes nearly buried.We got that one when we were there.Theres also the remains of another pb/bunker just north.Be interesting to see what captpies thinks
