Hi all ;
Thanks to my eldest fluffette i managed a quick trip out last night to make the most of a brief dry spell in order to try some local night phots of disused WW11 military buildings !! First off (inspired by Newage) was the Control Tower at the former RAF Kingston Bagpuize !! This is a standard 343/43 Watch Office for all commands and now stands rather isolated in its own field surrounded by modern industrial units !!
The last time i visited the tower was virtually completely boarded up and access was thru a window but now it is a walk in - albeit with a bit of clambering !!
This is the view from the upstairs Signals Office looking to the stairs.
The whole place is a breeding ground for stalactites and above the stairs is no exception !!
Downstairs now and two pics of the Watch Office.
This view shows the Signal flair stores complete with its armoured door !!
Accross to the Technical site of the former RAF Shellingford. This is the shell of one of the former Borehole Pump houses.
...... and this is the second !!
This is the view inside the protected entrance way to the Small arms ammo store.
And lastly the entrance to one of the two former Link trainer buildings that were originally on site.
... and the rapidly deteriorating inside ... !!
Well, there you have it, not exactly a rivetting explore BUT a chance to get out after spending FAR too long indoors over Christmas !! Happy new year to the lot of you !!
