Hi,

I hope i am allowed to post an external link however i visited RAF Upwood today for the first time. I walked around what i believed to be the canteen/dining area however after further research it looks like this was the hospital and the ovens where a crematorium.

Can anyone clarify this as i have read contradicting information.

Thankyou.

It's the kitchen. It's located in the officer's mess and exactly the same as the one at RAF West Raynham ([ame]http://www.derelictplaces.co.uk/main/showthread.php?t=12954[/ame]).

The hospital is still in use and fenced off from the main site on the Ramsay side.

The original morque is a tiny little building in the middle of the site near the mechanical workshops and completely uninteresting from what I can remember. One of the huge hangers was also converted to a morgue in preparation for hundreds or thousands of casualties during Operation Desert Storm. In the end, it was never needed or used.

thank you - would be great to know which building was the morgue however as you say it is uninteresting anyhow. thanks again.

Here ya go fella, morgue marked on.

Ignore the remainder of the place names:
West wing & hotel = Officers mess & accommodation
Casino = Sergeants mess
Prison = School. Etc.
