Ringstead/Dorset air/sea defence etc

Know its been done a few times so will leave out all the stuff you knew already!!Managed a quick mooch today(and a far bit of walking!) around ringstead bay. Done most of the usual stuff around the place but spotted a couple of large buildings/massive gun emplacements? from google earth so went for an explore.The ones I was really interested in were on private grounds with a very nearby house, if the front of the house was easily reachable I probably would have just knocked the door and asked...but it wasn't so crept in anyway. Only spent a little time as constantly looking over my shoulder...

Yes, or some thing similar! Not up on my birds, he was sat for quite a bit.New camera has a great zoom as I was a fair distance away...

I believe your gun emplacement is for two 9.2 inch coastal guns similar to the ones at Spurn Point. Nice post, thanks.

Yes it's a Common Buzzard

Great set of pics mate,passed there myself last year but was with the wife so a quick sneak around was out

osmington coastal battery, theres a little fort at the other end of it wich is now a private residence.

tried to find out what that little square thing in the ground was some time back but never got a conclusive answer.
