Hi All

Well on the way to our 4 days of madness in north wales it would of been rude not to pop in to what is left of Wrexham ROF.

Wrexham ROF was built in the late 1930`s for the production of cordite, sited on the East side of the country to protect it from possible bombing from the pesky Germans.
The site is way bigger than we first thought, we walked along a small lane and were presented with a field full of former WW2 building but first a stumble through the woods (As you do).
Thats where we found this baby, an observation post typical to ROF`s.

Also on this part of the site are 2 pill boxes, they are in fact both Twin boxes with a roof covering both, the gun posts are tiny, and each room has a small roof vent.

Any ramble around a former WW2 you have to take pictures of toilet blocks.

But the thing is the Loo roll holder on the wall, it must be 70 years old.

Had a nosey back here on sunday - there is a LOT more to see hidden in the scrubland to the north west on the industrial site. This was all part of a cordite factory -ROF 35- and will require a good mooch when God has done some pruning !!:)
