    Default Raf west raynham..officers block.

raf west raynham was a major airforce base during the Second World War..visited here with a none member.we intended to cover the whole site, but security had changed there office and there was people everywhere.so we done the officers accommodation and mess.and then called it a day.this was a big site on its own.but we are hoping to go again and replan the strategy.hopefully then I can do another report with some more of the site.the site is so big you would prob have to do two reports to cover it.there was no vandalism in this place..just all natural decay.

    Oozes class, well done.
VERY similar to other Officers Mess in the MoD. I know, I work in one, cannot get over the similarities, sometimes I look at these thinking our one will end up like these one day. Very sad.

They are all similar..must have been a standard design.the layout was similar to upwood.but this place is in such good condition.and no vandalism.this place is so overlooked.

Yes, the RAF & Army must have a standard blueprint and the same suppliers of materials.
This has had recent work done to it looking at the modern tiles in the toilets.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
