While the weather was still good, managed a few trips out and about . One that i hadn't done much research on was Rame Head, part of the WW2 Chain Home Low network

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chain_Home

This is a palimpsest of architectural styles ranging from at least 500yrs ago to WW2

The chapel of St Michael probably housed the electrical gubbins etc
The chapel with the concrete base in the foreground

Steps leading up to the mast base

Nice pics Graybags and an interesting place. Just read the wikipedia link and was very excited to see one of the chain home sites is in Branscombe, Devon. I knew there was a radar station there, courtesy of WW2Airfields website, and have it on my list of things to go and look at...but for some reason didn't connect it with the chain home system. Doh! Need to do more research methinks! :D

Cheers,
Eileen :)
