HELLO, Welcome to my first post on this forum. I live between Germany and England so whilst in Germany I get to visit some very cool and fascinating places. I have a particular interest in anything ww2 related, primarily from the third Reich as I find this more fascinating than any other subject.

The buildings I have photographed and explored were built by a company called IG Farben in 1943 for the primary use of making explosives and munitions for the Nazi military forces during ww2. These buildings are constructed of solid concrete walls with steel wire support inside them. They are shaped and designed to withstand enemy bombings from the air, and also explosions from the inside, and are camouflaged with vegetation and trees on the rooftops to blend in with the landscape and hide the facilities from allied aircraft. The labour was supplied from nearby concentration camps, namely from the Kaufering concentration camps, which are sub camps from dachau most of the inmates from the Kaufering concentration camps were sent from Auschwitz. There is so much more information I could share with you on this subject but without further a due here are the photos, Thank you.

Hi and welcome,

Interesting place, but it would be great if all the photos were the same size, and not thumbnail size. ;)

I love stuff like this, so I'm hoping you have more to share in the future!

Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys.

Me and my brother are going to go back this evening and photograph some more of the buildings. I'm sorry for the thumbnail size photos, they were taken last year and I couldn't get them to a bigger size. There is also some structures on the other side of town I still have to visit. I haven't found them yet as you cant see them on google earth because they are so well hidden, but with a little research I have found there positions.

Good first post but could you put a gap between the photographs. I lived in Germany for 7 years and there are lots to photograph especially around Berlin, Nuremberg, the list goes on. Schon tag noch.......

Fantastic first report. There's a lot out there so I hope you post a few more in the future! :p
Thanks for sharing :)
