Hi there, this is my first post as I am new to this. I'm a student in Hertfordshire but I'm from Norfolk. :)

I was staying in Ramsey this summer and my boyfriend and I decided we would take the camera to try to find some good places to explore. We mentioned to our friend and she told us about Upwood, we had no clue there was somewhere like this so close! I found a load of good images on-line (a few of yours I believe) so decided we would go.

We were unsure about getting in as the big gates were locked and I had heard you could normally just go straight in. We were sat in the car wondering where to go from there when a man pulled up and unlocked the gates but locked straight after. hmmm. The next car to pull up spoke to us and we explained we would just like to take some pictures, and he let us in with him.

This is our first visit to an abandoned place and we found it quite eerie and didn't want to go too far in. We got some nice pictures of the outside just wandering around the site, but after seeing lots of the posts on here I wish we had gone in further.

I really enjoyed our first visit and hope to go back next time I'm in the area.
We are in Norwich, Norfolk so I think our next visit will be nearer to home.
If anyone wants to get in touch please feel free as we are on the look out for places in and around Norfolk. :D

This is one of my favourites. :)

Below is my favourite image I took that day. :)

Thanks for viewing! :)

Welcome to the hobby and to the forum! Great first post. I'm sure you'll do fine, judging from what people post on here there's a zillion derelict cottages in Norfolk!

Nice first report! Hope you've got the bug!

I'll never forget that feeling of realization when you find out that it was there all along, and you'd never givenit a second thought!

Thanks for sharing :)

Nice photographs. Very good for a first post. And a nice size for this website. Now, all we have to do is wait for your next post. Suggestion? RAF Sculthorpe? Maybe?

i really should go here, but i've seen it so many times i feel i wouldnt do it justice

If you want to go see it then go, it's not all about taking inspired photos and impressing people on the internet, it's about experiencing and enjoying things for your own benefit. :)
