First ever explore for me and I loved it :) I'll be heading back at some point and also checking out some more sites in the area. Got a few more location reports from the weeks after this I will post when I have a few mins to sort through them.

I'm sure people know where this is. Can add details/name but as far as I can tell it's not the done thing here.

Headed here early on a Sunday morning. Spent about an hour milling around the various buildings with no problems. People were walking their dogs in the areas and there was a shepherd chasing after some sheep on the site. We only explored around 1/4 of the whole site. As a first explore we didn't want to outstay or welcome. All the buildings were in great condition with almost no vandalism aside from some broken windows. Worth another look in the near future to see some of the rest of the site :)

If anyone in the Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambs area is going out and wants a buddy drop me a message. Would love to do more exploring.

Happy to amend any of this if it's against any of the forum rules or whatever :)

You've posted each photo twice! Otherwise i's a good report, thanks for taking the time to post. :)

As far as naming sites goes, the decision is entirely yours, there's no rule.

Hi welcome to the site.nice first report.I was here recently for the sixth time giving a tour of the whole site.I did get to the top of the water tower for the first time.and what a view

Nice post and your photographs have come out well with good composition but - as you've maybe noticed that you've got two of a kind. Otherwise its a good post. With that level of photography you need to get out and photograph more redundant airfields, there's a lot around the Norfolk and Lincs area.

Thanks all.

I actually do a lot of landscape photography...have done for years with quite a bit of success. Just branching out now :) tbh airfields aren't my favourite, it just looked like a good place to start. office blocks and houses are where it's at for me.

no idea how that double image thing happened as I did actually preview the post to check! will edit now.

Lovely set of photos. That bird skeleton hasn't changed since January!
As Krela said, its totally up to the poster to name the site or not.
I'm just over the border in Cambs, always up for a splore! :)

Aha, well done. I see you've amended your post, its much better. Airfields are my favourite, mainly because the history of the airfield, how many planes took off but how many did not come back....

I live in Cambridge actually. Just seems there is more to explore in Norfolk. If you're heading out somewhere that doesn't include razor wire then it would be great to tag along :)
