Did RAF Wigsley a while back, attracted by the control tower. Found a few more bits and bobs near by and overall it was a good little mooch. Here’s the report just here

However afterwards I realised I missed out on quite a bit of stuff that was remaining including the decontamination block. Hence thought I’d pop by for a second look when I was in the area. History of the base can be found on my original report.

The decontamination is on the north side of the village. It’s easy access as it isn’t fenced off and a public footpath runs right next to it. The only battle you have to do is with nature and the omnipresent brambles! Here’s the pictures:

How long before that falls down!

Popped by the watch tower. I knew last year towards the back end it was for sale. It was obviously bought by someone and the new owner has put a gate on the plot and put barbwire round it. Not a show stopper in itself but they now live on site in a caravan so that put the Watch tower somewhat off limits:

That wind turbine has sneaked in since I last drove past there.

Looking through my notes I see that it was 2012 - I thought it was more recently. On the same day I called in to look at the danger buildings at Digby.

The small building in your other post looks like a borehole pump house.

That's proper fooked.
Love the way nature reclaims places given a bit of time.
Nice pics, thanks for sharing.
