History!

During WW2 this place was supposedly a 'reciever station' but after meating the land owner he and his wife told me that it was a soldier hospital! A military hospital basically. It was only a diddy one but still great to look around! Mostly natural decay.

The Explore!

Went SOLO on this one for a bit of a change! Had fun, no encounters however the 2nd time I went I remember parking my bike against an abandoned harvester on the field next to the site. As we reterned from the explore a tractor and a land rover was parked next to me and my mates bikes. We were walking towards them sh*tting our selfs thinking of what they were going to say. Turnes out when we arrived at them it was the farmer and his wife & they couldn't of cared less about us trespassing on there property. He was the one who told me that it was a hospital! Enjoy ;)

First building we come across!

You're lucky he weren't pointing his shotgun at you! ;)
Lovely photography indeed. It's impressive to see how much is still standing.

Another land owner that knows 'sweet f*** all' about the history of his land! The sluice is from the medical block associated with the adjacent airfield and other RAF installations in the area. The types of operational flying from RAF Warboys presented a higher casualty risk and this airfield, along with many similar fields had enhanced medical facilities for initial treatment of casualties to give them a better chance of survival. One should never equate this type of facility with a fully fledged Military Hospital establishment - they were known as 'Sick Quarters' by the men back then and should be still referred to by this name in my opinion.
