I know it's been done a million times before, but it's too good not to document. I always find it interesting reading reports on one place from various other peoples perspectives, so here is mine...

Some history/info ripped from good old wikipedia...

"With the end of the Cold War in 1991, and the phasedown of RAF Alconbury beginning in 1994, the USAF activities at Upwood were curtailed. RAF Upwood was returned to the British government control in September 1995 and with the number of airmen assigned to the area reduced, the need for housing became less and less. By 2005 the last USAF family moved out of the Upwood housing area and it was returned to the MOD. Much of the RAF Upwood is unused, closed by the Ministry of Defence in 1994. Most of the station was vacated and the land and buildings sold off to civil ownership."

So, after 23 years, you can imagine the beating it's took.

Overall, it's an absolutely awesome place to look around, loads of buildings to see with an amazing amount of graffiti there too. Couldn't of picked a better day for it really, and bar getting chased by a pretty pissed off man in a Landrover it was a great day! (Turns out if you go to close to his units near the back of the site it sets off his security cameras and he gets called to his units)

This was the first building we entered, from what i think were the remains of the kitchens i assume that this was the mess hall?

From here we moved onto a building just over the road from it, again not 100% sure what it would have been before...

This appears to be some sort of oven?

So much to take in here, even after 6 hours we still had a few buildings to go through!

Yeah always good to see looks like some new graff there since I went, did u brave the pigeon crap & climb up the tower?

You got a good set there. I know people say this place is well past its sell-by date but I think it still has something to offer, if not for its sheer size and the graff. Good report!

Cheers mate, yeah it's a proper ruin in all honesty. i think that's what makes it such a good explore mind, massive mix of natural decay and general vandalism/graffiti gives you plenty to see!

That's a nice, and different set of images. Yes, it's been done a few times in the past but its always nice to see different angles. Seems to be a bit more graffiti.

This is very local to me. It looks like there's been more graffiti added since I last visited, some of it is pretty good. Nicely captured 16vDeak :)

This is so cool! The graffiti at these sorts of places is always very well done. I guess they have more time to spend on it rather than when they do it on the street.

Yeah exactly! I like to look at threads of one location from different perspectives

Looks like there's been some decent new graff added instead of the usual boring tags...good report!
