Default Goodbye Holton Heath Labs - December 2019

I'm not going to go over the history again (unless Krela wants me to) as it's been well documented over the years. In fact, I'm really just posting these images as the Labs are literally about to be knocked down to make way for a church (yes, really).

Every building is utterly, utterly trashed now anyway - very sad to see the old gal in such a state.

The site has been cleared ready for demolition to go ahead, and there is activity on site with a bonfire burning. I understand the whole place will be flattened in the next week or two.

I didn't go inside as it's now way too dangerous, plus I was on my own.

    On with the pics...

I think this building might be going to be saved ↓

This is the only photo that shows the state of the inside ↓

Is the dispersed stuff in the woods getting flattened too?

Yes, apart from the hut in picture 4 (I think). It's all too far gone now.

Ah, okay, didn't know you meant over the road. No, nothing happening there as far as I know, only on the Labs' site (Area F).

It wasn't gone after this post I went on Monday. And it hadn't changed one single bit since these pictures.

Now that was a trip and a half.....!
I'd read somewhere that there was a plan to list the reservoirs I think? They are impressive and no mistakes.
Thanks for the pictures U-D. Shame to see this side of the road go.

I don't know about listing the reservoirs, but apparently that they are sealed and have been for some time. Also, the word is that the landowners intend to prosecute people going in to that part ... if they can.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
