RAF Montford Bridge was operational between 1942 & 1945, and was a satellite station to the much larger RAF Rednal. Visited during March 08.

The tower now seems to be used as a bit of a store / dumping ground by the farmer whilst the outlying buildings now house pigs.

The watch office, the single storey building, built c.1940 and seen here from the rear with a blast wall entrance and railings on the roof. The two-storey part to the left is a 1942/1943 extension and is the control tower. The original watch office is a typical standard satellite fighter station type built when it was a grass field. The control tower was probably added when the runways were built.

The steel cabinet inside the original watch office was used as a pyrotechic store for the very pistol and cartridges
