Here is a small report on a place called Warden Point Battery, here on the Isle of Wight.
This is one of the many 19 that were originally built here, sadly they are slowly disappearing, just like this one is.
As you can see from this ariel picture, its slowly being demo'd to be replaced with houses.
After it was decomissioned after the war, it was sold off, and the site had holiday chelets etc on it, a large swimming pool was made near by, and 2 of the 3 underground shell stors was converted into shower/bath rooms.
After that finished trading, it was bought out and the enevitable(sp) happened.

Anyway on with the pics;
You can clearly see the battery, but you can also see its demise.
Shell hoist (of which we had to climb down to gain access).
Some original benches, Im presuming this is where they would get changed before entering the powder rooms, and holes at the top for hangers.
Some original signage.
These pictures are of the unmolested part, the 3rd shell store that wasnt used as part of the holiday complex.
