Featherstone ROF - April '08

First report, here goes..

Heavily visited in the past, so I won't go into detail about the place.

We spent about 45 minutes marching about in the rain trying to look inconspicous and were on the verge of giving up when we finally got lucky.

The site was fairly busy, as there was some work being done to one of the buildings close by. A roof-full of builders setting up scafolding meant we had to keep extra low. Brambles and wet grass = Bad times!

Excellent photos, enrashid. Interesting site. Seems we've only had one other report from here on DP before (and that was in 06!) so it's interesting to compare the differences.

But yeah, I didn't realise until after I'd posted this. I remember seeing 28DL and there being loads of FeatherstoneROF posts. I just assumed there'd be as many here.

Nice report dude, great shots of stuff that don't normally get shown off from this site. Looks like all isn't lost. I read the report that work may have started on the demolition, but looking at the pic of the builders, it should be ok for a while yet.
The building being done is actually not on the ROF site that is still the ROF land. 2 bits were sold off, one for the prison, and one for a weighbridge(I think thats what it it). Anyway, the building looks to be the closest one to the weighbridge, and it's being converted for more use for that company.

Fingers crossed anyway!! I'll go have a look tomorrow.
