D.E.S.A police dog training - May '08

Drugs Explosives & Search Association (international police & search dog training) situated in the grounds of RAF Newton hidden in some woods

its unbelievable the ammount of dog pens there are here no end of outdoors with a wooden kennel quite a few with indoor section then a block on its own away from the rest Isolation

along with a fair sized training arena with a mini control tower/look out

visited with Goldie87













there is row upon row upon row of pens like this each with a little wodden kennel and a tyre



bathroom within a very odd static caravan we assumed it was for training purposes



all left clean and presentable



each with a sliding door to the outside world



smoke canisters and what not, im guessing to simulate warzones for dog training

After a morning looking at Airbase sites and ROC posts in Northamptonshire with mattdonut, I set off with Mr Sam to take another look at RAF Newton. Been there about 4 or 5 times now, but theres still new stuff to see

Before it closed RAF Newton was the training school for RAF/MOD Police and police dog handlers.Hence the large number of kennels and enclosures.It looks like this new outfit have made good use of the old facilities for their own training needs.

there was another one with parked cars 'which has the bomb in' and then a labradfor search dog with 'i know' above its head

was an explosives store for simulating these types of enviroment
