Hi All
I know it was a public open day at Paddock bunker last week, but I thought for those who did not go or did not know anything about it, I'd post a few pictures.

If you want any more posted let me know.

The place is very humid, and in some places there was around 2cm of water. At this rate it won't last much longer.

Our guide (Nick Catford I think) told us that Churchill hated the place, and only visited it twice: once to see what it was like, and once to have a meeting. The only other time it saw wartime use was when Clem Attlee met Robert Menzies, the Australian Prime Minister, there. There was a single storey building on top, which housed the lavatories and kitchens.

Paddock was in the grounds of the Post Office Research Establishment, which later moved to Martlesham Heath in Suffolk.

Here are the photographs I took.

Mites go up, tights come down. These are, therefore, stalagmites.

I like the way this came out, like an old sepia postcard. The colours are natural.
