North Weald Redoubt May 2008

What better thing to do on the way back from Severalls than a picnic at North Weald?

Visited with Shenanigans. The flooding is still bad. Will be interesting to see if it clears midsummer. Trillions of mossies too, plus a rat the size of a dog!

Didn't look like an oil boiler to me but what do I know...

Loads of pump valves, funky!




Photos were a bit unimaginative but it was our third site of the day and we were flagging a bit

Nice report and variety of pics is good too. I like the look of this place

First shot is particularly good -reminds me of a corridor shot at Severalls, with all the doors "naturally" left ajar!

Unusual place, looks like it was used after it was closed

The thing in the corner, of pic 4, looks like a wheel rim and the tyre cut and folded up, people used these as flowerpots

Yup, you are right - tis a tyre flower pot I went back with some wellies on, here are some wet shots....
