Needed to get out for the afternoon so up to RAF Upwood which was closed by the USAF/RAF in 1994. Now, some of it belongs to a turbine factory, some to Peterborough gliding club, some is still MOD but the part you can visit is used as grazing and occasional Air-Soft games (hence the billions of pellets and crates everywhere!). The site is huge and there are 10s of building to get through, so it takes some time.

Even if some of the buildings are a bit samey, the general ambience of the site is fantastic - peaceful and relatively graffiti free (the window smashers have had a field day though :( )

Highlight was definitely the Barn Owl :) And the tanks.

Thanks for looking :) Some of these are only 'snaps' but the site is more of a casual afternoon stroll than a serious photo-fest!

Thanks Foxylady, yes I sat and watched it hunting for quite some time but that was the only good shot I got with some of the site in the background. Always nice to get some wildlife in a trip I think.
