so heres my attempt

im sure if i had a wider angle lens to get the 360 in less shots and used a tripod to keep it level i could of pulled something off a little better but im quite chuffed with my first go at it :)

nah not that just fear of getting spotted, didnt see the security chap at all today though, we must of been there a good couple of hours

raf newton air raid siren

hi there, it was interesting to see the siren at the top of the water tower. i actually own one just the same as the one you have shown. i thought they had all long since gone as in 1991 the home office decided to scrap the air raid warning system that had been kept in use since the end of the second world war. all the sirens that were installed up and down the country were taken down and broken up for scrap as the home office didn't want people useing them for general security alarms. i was lucky to find one that had been long out of use in the grounds of nestles coffee factory in hatton derbyshire where i once worked. i set it off once , it sounded incredible ! it required a 415 volt 3 phase supply to make it work. i should think they are of great rareity now, its a unique part of history now, great that you photographed it
great work
