The unknown building could be the command centre. They often surrounded them with a banked wall for protection. Also it's positioning away from the airfield would mean it would not be a target from aerial attack (so the important people were safe:p)
 
I think Urban Mole wins the prize (not that there is one), RAF Cark was used for Anti-Aircraft Gun training, so yes it is most likely related to that.
 
Not been up to C&C for ages, usually shoot straight past on the bypass heading over to barrow, with a detour to ROC Backbarrow if I have time.
 
Its well worth dropping in, nearly all the ww2 buildings are still extant although watch office is now a house.
