Raleigh battery is close to both Maker and Hawkins batteries and looks over Kingand/Cawsand.

Raleigh was finished in 1893 & built my Messrs Lapthorn & Goad of Plymouth, two 10" guns were mounted in january 1894 and remained in place until 1908, when they were put into reserve....the MOD abandoned this site in 1946......

Got to say thanks to a couple who pointed me in the right direction of this site when i was out!

loads of original features remain, and some nice labels on the walls, the brickwork is in A1 condition....
