Stumbled across this old relic whilst exploring Fife. Not much to see as there are loads of tyres stashed inside. The 'Y' shaped interior wall is to prevent ricochets from stray bullets.

The bird's nest fits in well with the architecture, even that looks like its got a nice embrasure:)

Looks like an ex swallow's nest, adapted by a wren, they both seem to love nesting in pillboxes :)
Is that another covered entrance in pic 4 ?

D'you know, I keep coming back to this thread to have another look...plus checking pillbox stats on the appropriate websites! :mrgreen: My guess is, from the position of the walls inside, that it's a Type 24.
Love the nest. I've often seen swallows flying in and out of pillboxes...a real bonus. :)
