Kirkbride Airfield cumbria Dec 08

Litterally just a couple of pics of one of our local WW2 airfields this ones Kirkbride im in the fortunate position of visiting this and silloth airfield on a daily basis as well as passing RNAD Broughton moor on route .
Hopefully i'll take pics of the whole site in the near future.

One of many Stanton type air raid shelter at the site unusually and unlike silloth airfield the shelters at Kirkbride are not covered with earth.

First pic is an expansion period water tower. Is there more to see there?

two more water towers blister hangers guard posts a whole heap more shelters vehicle storage buildings a control tower and various other assorted sheds buildings etc , i will cover the rest in the next week or so.

Hasn't the control tower gone from Kirkbride?
There is a small modern type in use currently.
