 Thanks for the tractor pics, ricasso...a real bonus, that.
Great to see more of this site. That pillbox is still a puzzle, especially seeing the scale of it.
Cheers :)

Ripple store.

Excellent bit of extra info, due to it's location this site is very well preserved.
I see the foxes are still active unless it's badgers? (foxes were at the north end near the waterworks).
There is a site at Beeston Castle that used to have the same main building but the standby generator was a much smaller set-up, (as was the site).

im fairly sure its badgers due to the amount of used bedding laying around, i dont suppose you have any details about the genny set on this site by any chance ? judging by the exhaust it would be a fair size but as
you know the building is locked up tight

Very interesting pictures ricasso, nice to see a bit more. Great fence (again) in picture 4.

Look after the badgers everyone, they`re keepin me in a job, god bless `em

No, info is hard to come by about these sites but I would guess a Ruston engine as they seem to be the preferred WD diesel at the time.

The only original equipment pic I have is this Pearns ram pump which was the type used to pump petrol about, not sure if this was the only type of pump used.

youd want to be dedicated to take on that old fordson, its like i wish i was that day, headless! ;)

intriguing, what do you do ?

I`m a meat inspector, for my sins :(

The poor old badger is being blamed for the dramatic rise in bovine tb cases (some, say quite rightly so), ten years ago tb in cattle was a very rare find indeed, now we see quite a lot. Bad for the farmer, unfortunately, very good for us though. The Food Standards Agency would like to see self regulation in meat plants (abattoirs) and the back of us
