Carew Airfield Protection, Pembrokeshire – May 08

On the way down to Pembroke Dock for the day, my brother and I stopped off near Carew Airfield to have a look at the radar protection site the other side of the main road.

A small explore, but the little bunkers were fun.

After we left, we went to the St Twynnells ROTOR Station which is on another report.

Good job mate. Theres still a fair bit to see around Carew Cheriton to do with the airfield and lots of bunkers too.

They did a great job of restoring the control tower(not my pics):

at last someone has done this. My house is built on the old mess hall! I have loads of pics from its operational days which ill post up if people want to see them. The restoration group have just finished restoring a stanton shelter outside of the control tower. its open every sunday so if your passing pop in, they have done wonders considering it was used as a sheep pen for years. also lying on the back of a low loader is an avro anson they are planing to restore to its former glory.
