NOTE: This was originally posted over at Urban Exploration Sick Britain, some parts omitted, mainly for the sake of rules...

Finding this place was essentially an accident, spotted from a car window whilst travelling down the A5 a few weeks prior to my visit, it was pretty easy to find/remember the location as it’s very close to the M1, Junction 9.

The site consists of a single large warehouse-like building in which I imagine the furniture was both built and sold, the place is pretty-much gutted including the the offices although there’s not much to give away the original purpose of the site, save for the giant sign still intact on the main-road side.

There’s a lot of graffiti in the place and I recognised both styles and names from previous visits to Harperbury Hospital - Brass Monkeys and Demographix...

A couple of bits are quite artful and I managed to make a couple of panoramas from the walls…

Short Graffiti Wall

Long Grafiti Wall

As there weren’t so many artefacts left and the place is essentially one giant empty room the explore didn’t last too long, the offices were a bit wrecked and have clearly been involved in some sort of fire (arson or otherwise) that didn’t seem to have spread to the main building.

There wasn’t much graffiti in this part either save for the red bloody handprints on the wall which could be quite disturbing in the half-light but they’re more obviously paint in the daylight. Outside the back of the office is the road-side with the still intact sign (picture at top), other than that I didn’t really see much to stay for so I jumped back in the car and headed off.

I'm notr far from this place, it hasn't changed for about 10 years, I remember it burning down, the occupier torched it and done a runner, the road was closed for quite a while so was the petrol station and pub next door, oh and the pub is now a strip club if you're into that kind of thing, did you venture into the nissan hut to the side between the main building and the pub?

There was big dog the other side of the fence next to the pub so I didn't explore the exterior so much! Interesting bit of history there though, an insurance job, eh?

I put up a post back in Feb that had some pictures of the huts as well as another office block a bit further down the road. I thought it was all a bit average TBH. Funny I thought it was a auction house though. Can't remember why at all:confused:

I saw that building too but didn't have the time to go up there, the warehouse wasn't the most exciting place in the world but I enjoyed the graffiti.

Hi Els,you say wiped off the face of the earth,do you mean it has been demolished ,I also did an explore about three months ago but havn't been that way since .

Yup = just a pile of rubble, the whole lot

Well, at least I managed to get up there and capture some of the graffiti before the building was pulled down, as a goodbye to the place I've compiled a load of my photos (including many not in the post above) in this 3 minute video...
