a quick wee visit to the former sight of Elliot junction iin Arbroath, the sight of a forgotton rail disaster back in Dec 1906, when bad weather caused 2 trains to collide killing 21 passengers. The junction was closed back in the early 60's but you can still see evidence that it was once there. sorry about the pool quality of some of the photos.
Elliot Junction in 1958
and as it is today, the bridge is all that remains
where the station used to stand
all that remains of where the signal box used to stand
just past this gate is where the accident took place, this was on the 2nd line leading into Elliot junction.
