not much as your posts.. I know.. but I loved this place as a kid.....

Mate, there's nothing wrong with those pics, they're clear and show what you want us to see. You don't need another camera if this is anything to go by, not sure why you think you have a crap camera.

All I used for the last 3 years of exploring (and for years before forums came about) I used to use firstly an Olympus OM20 that used to be my dads, a film camera, then moved onto a Kodak point and shoot digital camera, and my pics always looked ok. The only reason I have a dslr is cos my other half Mendo bought it me for christmas last year, otherwise I'd be still using the Kodak Compact.

Just wondering, would these hve been the stables when it was a hall? in times gone by? looks in good condition. What are they planning to do with it now?

Cheers,

:) Sal

Hi.. I reckon you are right. The photos are respectable but I wish I had a camera with a wider angle lens really.
Pype Hayes Hall itself is a grade 2 listed building and is still in use today by Birmingham City Council as offices. I reckon that this building used to be the stables serving the Hall. The hall itself is the white building in one of the photos

Some photos failed to upload so I am trying again..

BCC have just demolished one of their old depots on my road and some of the outbuildings in rookery park

Hi. Yes I noticed that the other day. Hope Rookery house is still there? might go and have a look tomorrow..

Rookery house is still there but its boarded up tight than a gnats chuff ,a local heritage group has recently aquired it from the council and plan to restore it ti its former glory

Good news that it will be restored.. again I have fond memories of Rookery Park as a kid.. also used to take my kids there too when we lived in Dunvegan Road..

Thanks for those pics, I lived right on the edge of Pype Hayes Park 40 plus years ago and remembered that place when it was a cafe, I hope its not demolished. I'll try and visit there asap to take some pics.
