Bradfield Water Treatment Works, April 2010

During an eventful break in Sheffield I took a trip to Bradfield. Whilst my other half, the kids and dogs sat in the sun down at the river having a picnic, I went for a look round the water filtration plant up the road. It was a relaxed explore although there seemed to be a hurricane blowing outside by the banging of the doors. The water filter station was built in 1913 and closed in 1995. It purified water from Strines, Dale Dike and Agden reservoirs. According to the Yorkshire Post it may soon become part of the nearby conservation area and the Peak District National Park Authority is recommending that it be repaired. http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/Expansion--of-village-conservation.5965610.jp
