Time for something else!

The submarine was built in 1967 and used specifically for training foreign submariners in Libyan, Cuban and India.
After 27 years of duty it was sold to a brittish businessman to start its second life as a museum.
For a couple of years it just lying in the mud. Waiting for a third life to start.
The uboat was armed with 22 torpedo's including 2 nuclear warheads.

Martino and me discussed about the amount of crewmembers should work here.
5, 8 ? Maximum 12 we thought, its so small inside and loaded with equipment that we thought there wouldn't be room for more.
Fact is that the crew excisted of 77 (!) members!

The 360 degrees pano's:

Great stuff, that last shot is awesome, crazy amounts of spinny things.

Nice short report I take it the custodian was happy to show you round after the last time some one did a night trip.:) I do like the torpedo room.

Now which valve is it  This one  No - This one - no dont open that one :( Too late we're sinking. Good report there and nice shots :)

Thanks for this Bartje,

This is an unusual one.

I remember going into a German sub at a museum in Chicago. It reminded me of that as the layout is remarkably similar.

Like the panos - it feels as if you are there. What kit did you use to get these? Must have been difficult if the sub was not upright as the outside photographs suggests.

You wouldn't need anything beyond a tripod. Physical orientation doesn't matter as long as the camera stays steady and rotates around an axis at right angles to the floor.

Great little report.. loved it on there!

just one thing.. she's a diesel electric not nuclear :)

Ive been to that one, the yanks made a big thing of how they captured it but it was a good one to go round.

Great pics. I must admit, I am not too sure I would have been able to cope living in them conditions, but I would love to explore one.
