This was a 10 minute stop on the way back from Richborough with Kent-Urbex but I thought there were some pictures worth posting. It would be better if it wasn't such a bloody grey day but hopefully they interest some people.

I think the greyness is quite appropriate for the subject. You've got some good shots there, thanks for sharing.

Very interesting to see how quickly this has gone down hill - I believe that trains were stopping down here until at least the early part of the decade, when they finally wound up the ferry/seacat operations that were running out of Folkestone (one of the train boffins would be able to confirm this). Nice pics though, so thanks.

Thanks guys ;)

Funny you should mention the sense of abandonment seeing as its actually something of a public right of way - there were people all over the place, it's used as a cut-through and not a problem to get to at all. So not really urbex in that sense but I'm glad you liked the shots. Thanks for the compliments!

Fantastic pics there I love all those posts along the platform. To think of all the hustle and bustle that once took place there, for me there is something very fascinating about disused rail lines and platforms.

Great report - such a shame that we will no longer see steam engines taking on that 1 in 30 gradient -

Another piece of railway history gone

Great report tom46. Another example of artefacts hiding in plain site.

These shots have captured the sense of abandonment and must have been difficult to get if there were a lot of people about.
