Solo explore, later revisited on a couple of occasions with nij.

Ok, so my site where all my history was seems to be down. (leodis.net) But as far as I can remember there wasn't really much about the history other than it used to be a counting house for Yorkshire Bank :)

I had gone out after finishing work (at 3am) to visit two sites, I feel the first one (the old sikh mosque in Chapeltown) deserves an honorable mention as it had lots of history (insert broken link here :D) and I spent ages spidermanning it all over the roofs trying to find an AP that was suitable for a man of my stature!

There have been a couple of proposals to convert the sorting office, but there has been strong opposition from the local community as everything proposed so far has been deemed too large.

I had gone in the wee hours due to it being on a major road, this definitely added to the excitement, apart from loads of stupid pigeons making me jump. Someone else had obviously got a lot more fed up of this than me as one had been hung in a doorway, euch!

There isn't really much to see in the upper floors, its all been stripped back ready for demolition. The real payoff here is the 2 floor vault in the basement.

Sorry about the blur, but I was shooting manual and couldn't see for the life of me what I was focusing on!

I had a good hour and a half in here before I started to get the willies *ahem* I mean it started getting close to commuter o'clock so I headed home.

Cheers

Does seem quite eerie that place, the stairs down into that cellar type room looks well creepy. Well worth an explore, will be in leeds hopefully next week end might try and take in a couple of explores. Any you can suggest?

I would suggest: Sheepscar works, CASPAR housing, High Royds. There's quite a lot more too. I prob wouldn't bother with the sorting office as someone has locked the vault door and the rest is pretty stripped and full of pigeons.

Other great sites are Denso Marston, but there is on site security and St. Michael's College, but that is pretty hard to get into, I was just lucky.
