The Ouseburn culvert and air-raid shelter

The river was culverted with a ferro concrete tunnel and the valley filled in with basically industrial shite . Thats why the ground above ain’t been built on .
Building started in 1907 and the air-raid was added in 1939 and was constructed by building an A section over the river . Considered up market at the time compared to Victoria tunnels just up the road . ( i think it must be due to girth size )
Due to battery fail most pics are headlight ones

Nicely lit pics! Fantastic explore, although I can smell it from here! :p

Aye nothing like wading through shit for laughs with thousands of pounds worth of camera gear to photograph turds floating past!

Cool pics man, I've been to the entrance of that place a few times but the filth and the fact I was in newcastle put me off.

Cluny pub's not bad for food, or used to be.
