The Ouseburn culvert and air-raid shelter

The river was culverted with a ferro concrete tunnel and the valley filled in with basically industrial shite . Thats why the ground above ain’t been built on .
Building started in 1907 and the air-raid was added in 1939 and was constructed by building an A section over the river . Considered up market at the time compared to Victoria tunnels just up the road . ( i think it must be due to girth size )

We walked past . took photos of the bottle on the brink .
We walked past 40 minutes later and it hadn’t moved

One of us had to be stupid .
Ps . it’s blocked to save anyone else the hassle

it was the best mooch of the weekend . We got scatched to hell on the brambles at Leslie terrace and found needles . And just avoided walking into police and the farmer at hanzard farms
