This aircraft started life with British Airways flying from Gatwick to Islamabad via Manchester twice weekly.
Then was sold on to European Aviation (EAL), finishing service with Air Atlanta Iceland (who merged with the now defunct XL Airlines).

Once taken out of service it was sold to a company called Aces High, who now hire it to various film companies. It has been seen most famously in Casino Royale and was modified for the film.
Most recent appearance was in come fly with me (interiors only)

Enough with the History on with the pics.........

Interesting to see this up close; so far I've only been able to view it from the perimeter fence on the North (High Loxley Road) and South (near the Battle HQ). Were you allowed in then?

Very interesting, thanks for this.

I've seen the aircraft in the background of top gear a lot. Always wondered about the odd engine configuration. Did you get round any of the other aircraft you can see scattered round? ISTR a naval fighter and a DC3 at various times.
