http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-505140-spacey-houses-farm-harrogate
As you can see from the very informative link above, Spacey Houses Farm has existed as a farm since at least 1851. Before that, it was possibly a public house, where Blind Jack of Knaresborough, the famous roadbuilder apparently drank. It was farmed for many genarations by the same family but eventually became owned by Harrogate Council and then vacated around 2008, when the current farmer relocated.
During the last fortnight, the for sale sign has appeared and the farm house itself has been tightly reboarded, as the council hope it will be converted (as it is a grade II listed building)and additional dwellings built on the site.
We were able to access all the outbuildings including the stables, milking shed, and a dilapidated greenhouse. We found many items of interest such as farm machinery, horse related items, an oven/hob/sink unit and scores of fridges and freezers (flytippers?)
