I cant even remember how I became aware of this place. I've re-googled and cant find it again!

From what I can work out from various internet searches, Sandiacre Care Home is still running in the area, there is even a current CQC report on them dated Jan 2012. (CQC is the Care Quality Commission for care providers - it seems Sandiacre is performing well  )

Date written: 10th January 2012

People told us they were happy and liked living at the home, and they were very pleased with the home following the refurbishment of the dinning area.
People told us they can go to bed when they like, and that they like having a cup of tea in bed first thing in a morning.
We were told the new wing was opened by a resident who had celebrating her 100th birthday.
People told us that they have flowers on mothers’ day and a drink to celebrate fathers’ day.
We observed staff being patient and respectful, ensuring people’s dignity and privacy were respected and maintained.
We were told that they provide “good entertainment and, that food is good, we always have a choice.”

I had assumed there was a fire and they relocated, but another google report says there was a fire in a derelict care home... There's always the possibility there were two seperate fires...?

A DERELICT nursing home in Sandiacre was damaged by fire on Saturday evening.
Firefighters were called to Sandiacre Court, at about 7.20pm. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

As you can see from the photos it's got quite a lot of fire damage, and plenty of damp. Not really a nice place, but an explore is an explore regardless :)

This was another of my 'work-day' explores. It's so nice to travel long distances to these places and then get your mileage paid for ;)

great report.
Is this on the road inbetween that awfull junction by the rail bridge and the traffic lights on the way to Risley?
If it is, i'v seen this place before, its been derelict at least 10 years to my knowledge.
Its set back from the road in some tall trees, theres a road goin into a 70's housing estate to the left of it i think.
Theres another weird derelict house off this same road on the opposte side, on freisland road or crescent.
Its a right odd place, its borded up and has been for years, looks totally odd to the rest of the houses on this road which are all 70's houses, this one looks 50's but with a modern roof.
Its had a fire also, maybe someone on here knows about it?

I dont really recall where it was, I kinda followed sat nav to it, and then followed sat nav to my destination. I was set back from the road, but really wasnt visible from the road, possibly would have been years ago before it got so overgrown - ambulances must have been able to drive up there once, but not anymore.
