Wow, that's impressive,
is Bradgate the estate or the nearest village or both?

It's a pity thay don't build things as wonderfully pointless as that today, it's the kind of thing I'd do if I had the money..

I have been led to believe it is the family name of the once owner. He gave the estate and the house/chapel etc to leicester city council who now charge for car parking, to roam it is free...it is also home to a stately homes ruins, a small folly and a large war memorial...

the stables are on another nearby estate, with the same name (he must have been rich), the "bradgate house" which the stables are part of, has just been converted into offices, therefore the stables should not be far behind.

i'll probably get an update on my site a.s.a.p

turk ;)

Cheers for that, I always like to hear a bit of background for these places. It sounds something of a 'playground of interesting things'
