Neither really. If it's rural, which most places round here are, it usually gets left until it becomes just another pile of stones from what I can tell.
That's why there are hundreds of untouched abandoned farms out here, no-one sees the point in demolishing them and while conversion/renovation is growing in popularity, it still doesn't seem to be making much of a dent in the number of abandoned buildings, most being too far gone for that and there not being a huge housing demand like there is in southern England.

    Thumbs up Re: Sillian School

    Good pics JH :)

Interesting colour scheme going on with the red & blue!
Well done for getting some pics, as you never know when the bulldozers might arrive :(

All the best with your studies! Me other half studied at Lampeter & whilst in nearby Cardigan, did a quick recce in the old castle & Castle Green House -worth a look if you're ever in that area ;)

P.s. -planning a trip down to Hastings soon, as I've some relatives in the area. Will let you know if I find anything. Does anyone know anything about the old Hospital outside of Hastings, which I've got on me website? -a name would be a great start!!

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
