The building was built 1807-1808 by Charles Watson,
opened in 1808 with extensions in 1833/1866 by William Flockton/Abbott as council dwellings.
Became a crown court in 1897 and a high court in 1992,
closed in 1997.
The building is in average condition, considering its been empty for 16 yrs
and is on the buildings at risk register.
