This canteen is the most recent abandoned building in Papworth! It was abandoned in early 2016. It was built in a disabled nabour-hood to provide cooking for the disabled. The place has no graffiti but is all ready trashed. Definatly worth a visit because Papworth is going through a demolition stage. It recently demolished the abandoned clinic, Rehab & factory.

Enjoy!

Okay I'm going to suggest this was abandoned long before a year ago. The undergrowth outside the entrances suggests 5+ years.

but it was abandoned 1 year ago. look on google earth! It was abandoned then! 100%

Nice clean shots X, I too think that ivy bin there for more than a year, could it have just bin unused before being finely abandoned, I enjoyed it, Thanks

When I see files and box files dated 1999 and 2001 that could contain pro forma containing mundane information and not Regulatory Information i.e. stock levels etc, two questions spring to mind - 1/ why no files for more recent yearly pro forma/records? 2/ Would one remove more recent files of mundane content on closure?

One possible answer to 1/ is that by end 2001 this one was shut and left unused. Another answer is that the black file on its side is full of further records for another period i.e. another year. In the case of 2/ is is quite possible that a current year's file could have been transferred to the new premises. In the old job I would have been quite happy to state in Court - that from the photographic evidence and assuming no files removed, it points to the possibility of this place not being used after 2001. However; just being not used and shut up is not the same as being fully abandoned by the owners, all it means is that the weeds and heavy undergrowth are relatively undisturbed and can get a really good footing (as Krela intimates in his 5+ years comment). All just ready to tangle the feet of the unwary Explorer!
