I've got a few real stonkers coming up which I ended my trip on, but in order to get there first I must bring you the compilation of all the other places which aren't really worth separate threads for. It's not all 'epics' out there by any means, there is more than enough of the 'bread and butter' exploring to be done as well.
Towne House Hotel
I only took a few shots here as the lobby floor was the only area of interest.
St. Vizoe's Baptist Church
Another abandoned church, this one wasn't really worth the tight squeeze and precarious clamber to get inside, but it was close to other stuff. The floors in here were rather soft, many of the pews were in the process of sinking into the basement.
Hilltop Community Theater
Situated between two university properties, the old theatre sits slowly decaying and wide open to the elements and trespassers. It's such a shame to see a beautiful building like this so badly damaged.
St. Aestre's Church
Yet another church, this beautiful twin-spired building has been derelict for many years. We turned up and found the front door ripped off and disarded on the steps, which shows how little people care about the building nowadays. Sadly it's probably beyond saving.
Ladies C.A.R. Home
This is one of those random enigmas of a building. We had it pinned as a 'go and see' kind of place because although obviously derelict for some time, try as we might we couldn't find a shred of information online about it, or any photos of the inside. We didn't even know what kind of place the large four winged building was. Once inside it became apparent that it was some kind of care facility, and it was absolutely ruined. Thankfully after some amount of wandering we found a rather nice old staircase tucked away behind a horrible stud wall.
On finding it was an old care facility I now assume the C.A.R. in the name means 'Care And Respite'.
Miles Bryan High School
About six months back a young womans body was found dumped in this school after being murdered somewhere else, it's absolutely ruined but has a very unusual auditorium which is about the only thing left of interest. Every inch of the rest of the building was trashed and full of graffiti, and me and my friend both agreed we didn't feel 'right' in there, it gave us both the creeps.
Mudslide Mansion
Lastly in this round-up, a very derelict mansion.
It was abandoned after a mudslide from the bank next to it pretty much knocked it off it's foundations, the owners took almost everything except a chandelier and the stairs. It's absolutely treacherous inside, the roof offers no waterproofing protection and as such the wooden floors are extremely dodgy.
I've got three absolute beauts to bring you to round off my trip, so stay tuned
