Siop y Werin, Llanelli

Hey all, probably don't remember me but I lurk a lot, done a little bit of urbex but due to lack of good transport I'm fairly limited to what I can access. I haven't done much lately since a church I was exploring was later set on fire by some vandals the very same day and since then I've been put off a bit because of how close I was to either getting burned or arrested that day.

Anyway, there's a shop in my town of Llanelli called Siop Y Werin. Unfortunately I can't find much history on the place. The most comprehensive description I have found online is from the Scarlet Fever site, where one user said:
'tell you waht though the oonraker may have been surpassed by the magnificence of siop y werin opposite'

Good stuff. Anyway, the shop has been derelict for as long as I can remember, since before I was even born I think! I didn't actually go inside because the only way in has cameras around it but I leaned in and snapped a few pics through the hole in the wall!

Cameras are unlikely to be monitored too much, they're only as good as the person watching them...get in there

Siop y werin translates as folk shop,with music centre above the door I guess they sold music or musical instruments to the folk musicians in the neighbourhood

That's interesting, but it looks dangerous. Looks as though its falling down, or about to. But, I wonder whats inside.

I'm from Llanelli too, and it's sad to see Siop Y Werin like that, it's such a beautiful building.

I think it closed around 2000.
