Had a Re-visit to this old school house with Rubex whilst out and about in the area. Quite a lovely place full of decay and just been left to nature to make its mark, I really liked the colours and how the ferns had taken root in the old Hall. Was originally built in 1866 and used to have on average 110 pupils.

On with the photos

Thanks for looking:encouragement:

It's a cracking little place did you squeeze in the other bit..great shots mate

Lovely set JSP. One of many similar establishments dotted around the UK at one time. The committees responsible for the building of these schools were all under the the same illusion - that education required the 'fear of God' to be put on every pupil, if they were to gain any benefit from their schooling. Hence the requirement that the main school hall always had a church like interior; it was also a room where most of the pupils spent long periods of their school life. Reading about the education system in those days is, in many cases, not very edifying. One does wonder how some of those pupils managed to escape the oft brutal and sadistic regime and went on to make a name for themselves away from the only other option available - those 'Satanic Mills' of old!

Thanks for the comments, I went in that part over 2 years ago Mikey. However i never bothered this time round.

It's really good to see nothing has changed between visits. It was a good day out. Beautifully captured jsp :)
