Default Dover Magistrates Court, Kent - July 2018

Visited with prettyvacant71 and later joined by JSP77.

We had a day out in Dover lined up with Grom, Malenis and her other half. Being creatures of the night and always on the hunt for something new, PV and I had spoken about this court before after she found it. So, fuck it why not, we are gonna be in the area anyway!

The court was built in 1987 and was put up for auction at a guide price of 350000 in November 2017 but remains unsold. The court had shut earlier that year as part of the MOJ's plan to try and save 500million.

There are 4 court rooms in total, 2 of which were worth a few pics, the other 2 were small and empty apart from a few stacks of the blue boxes of random stuff found everywhere throughout the building. And when I say random stuff, it was like it was evidence from the biggest car boot sale heist in the county - boxes of fairy lights, toys and Blackberry covers etc. PV even joked that some shifty market stall owner was using the place to stash his dodgy goods. Downstairs in the holding cells was the best bit in my opinion.

    Thanks for looking!

No cameras....public execution seems a bit harsh for breaking that rule. But of a minter that. Fab stuff.

That's nice. This place could be made into a hostel or a small hotel. Cells are not very full, just the usual suspects.

Guessing you plead guilty. There's not a defence lawyer in the land who could get you lot off.

I'm not sure I believe that, I'm not convinced you've ever been good to know that.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
