Visited this place with man gone wrong.not a huge amount to say about it really.its the end of an heritage line.and they seemed to have dumped a load of old rolling stock.this leads into a small tunnel.it was quite a tight place to photograph, with stock tucked in tight on both sides of the line.it was a very cold and frosty morning.

A nice set of mostly engineers wagons and in not bad condition. If you have a look at picture 16 you'll see an oval shaped plate. This is on the solebar at the ends of the wagons. This displays the build date and the manufacturer. Another piece of history.

Fantastic set as usual, I can almost smell the old grease!
Beautiful signage too, thanks for sharing.

Came here looking for photos of bottoms and was disappointed..

Interesting and cool stuff in that lot - very much reminds me of Tanfield Railway (which you really should check out).
Still hard to take in that we had so much rolling stock and a huge network of railways in the UK. So much has gone now.

Sadly; the BRB cut its own throat when Nationalisation took place on a Regional basis. Dieselisation, instead of full scale electrification immediately Nation wide, was the path chosen. Marine power units, mounted on poor under frames, do not make the most reliable locomotives in heavy service. Still; sorting out the cock ups for thirty odd years gave me an interesting job, good pension and a nice early retirement!
